Clifford Fulford vs. Elizabeth Bishop
#13 Chancery Court Spring 1842 to Fall 1843
Elizabeth Bishop, who was Elizabeth Styron, of Marengo
County entered into a contract of marriage with Asa Bishop and on
The said Asa Bishop agreed to give Elizabeth Styron 1/3 part of the
proceeds of the crops which shall be made on my plantation annually and then
receive 1000 dollars at the death of Asa Bishop. Asa died in 1841.
Will of Asa Bishop;
I give to my grandsons, William Bishop, Robert Bishop, Asa
Bishop and Clifford Bishop, heirs of my son John N. Bishop, late of Marengo
County.
I give to my grandson Bishop Fulford, son of my daughter Polly Fulford.
I also give to my daughter, Polly Fulford $1000.
I give to my grandson, John Allen Styron, son of my daughter Esther Styron.
I also give to my daughter, Esther Styron $500.
I give to my grandson, Walice Willis, son of my daughter, Sarah Willis, 100
acres.
I give to grandson Joseph Willis, son of Sarah Willis, one Negro boy.
I give to my grandson, Francis Nelson, son of my daughter, Elizabeth S. Nelson.
110 acres.
I give to my grandson, John B. Robinson, son of my daughter, Rebecca Robinson
130 acres.
