Robert Pritchett married Elizabeth Brunson 17 March 1832. Early deed records show that they were living in Marengo County in 1834. Robert Pritchett was born about 1802 in Rockingham Co., NC and was the son of Jeremiah Pritchett and Winifred Jenkins. Robert, his brother, Jeremiah and two sisters, Martha and Winifred all came to Marengo County, AL about the same time. Martha and Winifred married brothers, Phillip and Noah Agee.
According to the Pritchett Bible record, Robert and Elizabeth (Brunson) Pritchett had four children: Mariah Elizabeth, born 15 April 1833; Jenkins A. J., born 19 Feb 1835; Robert A., born 26 Aug 1837; and Joshua W., born 4 Aug 1842. Elizabeth (Brunson) Pritchett died and Robert married second to Frances Ann Day on 19 March 1849.
The 1850 Marengo County Census shows Robert Pritchett, age 48, born NC; Frances, age 32; Mariah, age 16; Jenkins, age 15; Robert, age 12; Joshua, age 7; and Charles, age 4 months old. Robert's brother, Jeremiah Prithcett age 46, was living next door.
Robert and Frances Ann (Day) Pritchett had seven children: Charles, Martha Jane, James, Mary Elizabeth, Scriven, Dulcina, and Webster.
Robert Pritchett died 27 October 1880 and is probably buried in Friendship Cemetery near Vineland, AL.
Mariah Elizabeth Pritchett, oldest child of Robert and Elizabeth Pritchett, married Henry A. J. White 6 April 1852 in Marengo County, AL. They had two boys; James Floyd and Calvin Cornelius, both born in Marengo County. For some reason Henry A. J. White left his family and moved to Ouachita County, AR and enlisted July 1861. He served in Co. D 6th Regiment Arkansas Infantry. The last record found for him is Feb 28, 1862. He was in a hospital in Nashville, TN.
James Floyd White married Laura A. Sparrow 7 Jan 1875 and Calvin Cornelius married Sarah Sparrow 10 May 1877. Laura and Sarah were sisters and were born in Dallas Co., AL. Their parents were Bryant Sparrow and Mary E. Shaw.
James Floyd and Laura (Sparrow) White had 6 children, all born in Marengo County; Mariah Elizabeth; Calvin Fennie; Sarah Adel; James Floyd; David Perkins; and Sadie. Their last child was born around 1885.
Mariah (Pritchett) White and her two sons, James and Calvin, moved to Texas around 1888. Laura (Sparrow) White died 8 July 1889 in Walker Co., TX and is buried in Shockley Cemetery near Dodge, TX. James Floyd White died in 1930 and is buried in Polk County, TX in the Carmona Cemetery. His mother died in 1906 and is also buried in the Carmona Cemetey.
Mariah Elizabeth White was born 5 Oct 1875 in Marengo Co., AL. She married John Alexander McComb 24 Dec 1893 in Polk Co., TX. John A. McComb was born 1860 in Belfast, Ireland. Their children were: Annie Laura; John Ivy; Mabel; Ruth Naomi; and David. Their oldest child, Annie Laura married Walter Theodore Glidden. I am a grandson of Walter and Annie Glidden.
